Dimpy Houses
"Dimpy Houses" is a series of scenes depicting cartoon houses as a metaphor for housing anxiety. My aim is to locate the instability (and unsustainability) of our approach to housing in Canada in the house itself, as a character. The Dimpy House exhibits our urge to connect while grappling with deep anxiety and detachment in our communities. It is a comment on the implications of our attitude towards housing an exportable resource in Canada, and life under the larger conditions of late-stage capitalism.
